5 STARS!! I was brought here by my Chinese neighbor, so I knew it had to be something special! The food here is instantly good and cheap! The best kabobs I have ever had. FOOD: Chicken Kabobs: I always get the one with bone. Its the way its suppose to be!!! The chicken always falls right off the bone. Perfectly spiced with the tandoor flavor. Dip it in the green chutney sauce! I always run out so I always ask for an extra. Naan: Fresh made naan! Yum! Lamb Kabobs: I didn't try this, my sister did and she said it was delicious. Samosa Chaat: Could be better, but I'm not here for the chaat anyways! Yellow Curry-(Vegetable): I only come on Tuesdays and Thursdays just so I can get this on the side. I'm extremely picky with yellow curry and often compare them to my moms. And this one, this one is one of the best I've had! Gulab Jamoon: YUM! Make sure you eat them warm.

I decided to try something new and different, lamb Karahi for two is what we ordered. Downfall, it only came with a small salad and naan. Soooooo, I ordered a side of chick peas and had some rice at home. We weren't too sure what lamb Karahi was, I actually thought I was ordering lamb chop but I was pleasantly surprised. It was like a stew dish with pieces of lamb on the bone. There was ginger and jalapeños in the dish. I can't really explain what it tasted like, it was just really good- kind of on the oily side though :(. Naan is yummy like always. Chickpeas are great too. Salad... Is a very basic iceberg salad. Usually I will just order one chicken tikka on the bone with the two sides which is always good. Next time, I think ill try lamb chops or the other lamb kabob. It does take some time to get the meal cooked, visit the mom and pop shops on the strip or call ahead. Good eats in a random little strip mall.

Midnight hunger pangs?! Well.. I suggest this place..!! It has awesome food, and it open till 12 on weekdays and 2am on weekends. They have typical Indian/pakistani food. Right from Sheesh kabab to chicken karahi and from fresh yummy Gulab Jamuns to hot cutting chai (Tea).. This place simply rocks!! my personal favorites are chicken karahi.. you can ask them to make it spicy.. it tastes real good, and the minced chicken kababs..I love them! The meat is always fresh and I find the place has a very sanitary feel about it. Don't miss the chai on a rainy day, it is the best drink to down your food. Also, they carry Indian drinks like Maza and Canada dry! :p Though I am not much of a fish person, I so love their Fish kababs.. yumm yumm yummm..!! Go there as a family, or as a group of hungry college gradies.. it's a nice place to eat! More like a fast food place almost, and everything can be made to go! On an average I spend less than $12.00 for a scrumptious meal and dessert! Word of Caution: they sometimes take a wee bit long to get the food out ( i can assure you it is only cuz tey make it oh-so-fresh).. but yeah, just so you know! :)

The lamb chop kabobs are amazing! We sampled lots of the menu on our first vist and were not disappointed with anything. Very nice staff who heleped us pick out food for our 4 adult, 3 kid meal. We will absolutely return.

Food is amazing! Especially the lamb karahi. The only gripe I have with this place is that they don't serve individual portions for the karahi...although I have finished a portion for two.

Went here tonight with a friend. This place is great because it serves zabiha food. Me and my friend got two samosas, chicken boti kabobs with lahori choley and seekh kabobs. The samosas were just okay in my opinion. The chicken bot kabobs were very good and the seekh kabobs were not bad either. The meal itself is pretty cheap, with the entre being 8.99. Service was friendly and the food came out relatively quick. Other reviews have said that it takes a while for the food to come out, but I don't think it was too bad. I'd definitely recommend this place to somebody that is close to the area. It's kind of far from me, so I won't come back too often, but if I'm close, I definitely will.

Neomi, Gideon, Roy and I ate he today. We shared 3 chat samosas, chicken karahi for 2, a humus based salad and nan that comes with the main dishes and, as usual, the food was super, extra delicious. I simply cannot think of any restaurant in the DC/MD/VA area that will give you the same bang for the buck. There are no waiters here and the food is eaten on plastic plates. No ambience to speak of. Nothing fancy. It's also located quite far from where we live. And yet, the food, Halal, as it is, is simply the best.

We had the regular samosas and chet samosas, boneless chicken kabob, and the grilled ground beef kabob. The samosas were spicy, and since I am allergic to milk, I skipped the yougart sauce. They didn't offer any other dip in its place. I learned that chet means a regular samosa covered in chickpeas and onions in a bowl. Good, but VERY heavy on the onions. The kabobs were meat-only, no veggies, just a little side of iceberg lettuce, rice, and again TONS of onion. The meats were lightly seasoned and good, but seemed bland to me. The lemon wedge helped some. This place seems to equate beans and vegetables. Real veggies were not visable in any of the dishes I saw. The bread was fantastic - fresh and steaming hot. It was the best part of the meal. Apparently, they don't use butter to make anything here, which was nice from my perspective, but it was very heavy on the meat.

I just wished there karahi was made with boneless chicken. Next time I will call ahead and ask if they can make the karahi with boneless chicken. Everything else was great. The service was friendly. It just took forever for them to make the food. We even called ahead and ordered the food. We still waited about 15 mins at the restaurant to pick up the food. I would def come back here soon. MANGO LASSI was delish! Beware they are kind of pricey for a local carry out / just a hole in the wall restaurant nothing fancy here!

Awesome! their Maghaz masala is the best... Great service... take their time to cook fresh food... some times gets crowdy but they still take care of you unlike Ravi where they only look for your cash... Great Food and great service...

The kabobs here a juicy, tender, and ooze a bunch of tastiness into your mouth...so good, so good! The chicken boti kabob (grilled boneless chicken marinated over night in their special house sauce-$8.99) is scrumptious! The chicken is super tender and has tons of flavor in it. The kabob comes with a generous amount of chicken (about 5 pieces), and it's accompanied with fresh naan, salad, side, and chutney. The naan is pretty good, I love the fact that it comes out fresh and pipping hot. The only thing I don't like about this naan, is the middle part. It's extra thin and crispy, so I just eat around the sides. The salad is okay, I usually don't touch this. For my side dish, I get their vegetables and rice (although it comes with one side item, they seem to always offer me two...so why not?!). The vegetables are pretty good, somewhat on the oily side though. The rice is well, rice. The chutney is real good...seems to be made of a mix of lemon, cilantro, and green peppers (don't quote me on that though). The kabobs are cooked to order, so it usually takes at least 10-15 minutes before your meal is up. Definitely worth the wait though! This place gets pretty crowded around lunch and dinner time, so expect a longer wait for your food. Their tons of tables too, as the restaurant is a decent size. Staff are pretty friendly and don't mind explaining the different kabob choices to you. They have seven different kabobs to choose from (chicken, ground beef, lamb) and a fried fish special. BTW-Their vegetable samoas ($1.25) are crispy and good too. BTW2-They have daily specials. I definitely will be back on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday to try the nehari (beef) kabob ($7.99)

I have a problem, but it's all because my prayers have been answered: Pakistani food in Silver Spring that is just as good as Ravi Kabob in Virginia. So why is this a problem? Because I am going to spend every penny of my salary eating there every night. Then I will also get fat because I will be licking the last little bit of food from the damn styrofoam container the food comes in. Life is hard sometimes, but you know, life also requires sacrifices. Somebody has to keep them in business, you know? This place opened in December last year and I had no idea--who goes that far up New Hampshire voluntarily and without a reason? And, yes, Tom Sietsema wrote a review of it today, and I could not get up there fast enough. As others have noted, the atmosphere is nothing to, um, note, but who cares? I didn't notice drink selection because I usually drink water when I go out. But it was clean and there was a fair amount of space; much bigger than Ravi Kabob, much brighter and more open. There were a lot of Pakistani people eating there, as well--they far outnumbered the obviously non-Pakistani people. Two meals:, one veg and one lamb kebob, plus one drink, came to under $16. I have leftovers since the mixed veg comes with two veg, as well as rice, salad, and naan. Today they had chickpeas (choley lahore?), which are possibly my new favorite food in the whole world, and spinach and potatoes. I mean, I can't even describe how happy I was when I put the chickpeas in my mouth and found it was just as good as Ravi Kabob. Now the bad: LOOOOOONG wait. All that had to be cooked-to-order in our order was the lamb kebobs and the naan, and we waited for over 30 minutes. There was one person in line in front of us. Next time we will be calling ahead so we can avoid that. Will I go back? Hopefully I can resist the urge to visit every night...

Solid kabob place. Located in a strip mall just north of the New Hampshire/Norwood Drive intersection, this place offers a wide variety of appetizers, kabobs, entrees, and dessert. Everyone in my lunch group loved what they got, and my lamb chops were absolutely delicious. Served with some good fragrant rice, flat bread, veggies, and some delicious yogurt sauce. One of the best lunches, if not the best lunch I can get for work. Location is on the outer skirts, but if you go before the lunch rush and call with your order before heading over, you can enjoy yourself relatively leisurely.

An excellent authentic Pakistani kabob house. I particularly like the chicken karahi and the chapli kabob. Each entree comes with one piece of steaming-hot naan bread and a small side of your choice (I always go for the chole (chickpeas)). Ambiance is quiet and there are several tables for larger parties. Service is quick, too!

Went to this place last week but has BAD!!! experience. Their food may good but the people working their are rude and do NOT have any customer service skills. I am NOT going back to this place. RAVI KABOB is the best.

This hole in the wall joint is one of the best Pakistani restaurants i have been to here in the DMV. The food is fresh and the flavors are great. The kebabs and the karahi pots have distinct flavors unlike most Indian restaurants. The portions are large and well worth the price you pay. This place is open late on weekends and that is plus for those of you who enjoy a spicy meal late at night. Of the desserts served, the Rasmali is standout and is a must try I would recommend this place to any and all who want to pig out on good home style cooking at reasonable prices.

The place was bustling with activity at lunch time and filled with etnic clientele which is usually a good sign! The kabobs were freshly made which is typical for these type of restaurants, the meat was cooked very well and sides were very tasty. The portions for the sides was slightly less for my liking but the entree size was good. Everyone seemed to be ordering the Karahi but it looked like too much of a large portion for just myself so I plan to try next time with company.

This is one of my all time favorite places to go when I'm in the mood for some comfort food. Yes, the seats are a bit worn down and a little uncomfortable, but who cares when the meat is succulent and the chickpeas delectable! Prepare to wait for your food as it is made to order and that includes the naan. ~ Happy Eats ~

5* is for food. Have eaten take out from here many times over past 2 years. Chicken Boti Kabob and Lamb Kabob (grilled medium) are very reliable; superb grill technique; spicing just right; really tender meat. Its grilled to order, and takes about 15-20 mins, so call ahead for take out; don't complain about wait if you are eating there, its served fresh off the grill and tastes better for it. Skip rice and get the chickpeas that comes as a choice with every order. Kahari's are grilled meats in a very spicy sauce; almost like a stew; (they will make less hot if you ask); beef Kabobs and lamb on the bone are both good. As many others have noted the decor is strip mall hole in the wall at its 'best'; service is brusque; often crowded; but you won't get better authentic halal Kabobs anywhere in MD/DC area

First time here... We were unfamiliar with the menu and order processing, so it took a little while to get started. You pick your entree from the menu board, pay at the register and leave your name. Next your main dish item is cooked to order and ( less than 20 minutes later ) your name is called. When you return to the counter you make a choice of the side-dishes to accompany your meal. We carried the tray out to our booth and within seconds a server appeared with freshly baked nan, soft, hot, and steaming. The nan gave me an immediate favorable impression of this place, larger than the plate and so flavorful. My wife ordered the "KK Special: Seekh Kabob and Chicken Tikka" with a side of chickpeas. I ordered the "Chicken Boti Kabob" with a side of chickpeas. ( Given the type of restaurant, cuisine, and appearance of the serving tray, I was expecting the chickpeas to be Chana Masala, with robust, well-seasoned flavor. Today, we found the chickpeas were not bad, but not seasoned as we expected ). Each plate was accompanied by a simple salad of sliced lettuce and sliced white onion, as well as a two-ounce plastic container of what appeared to be a yogurt sauce with abundant cilantro content. I am a salad lover, and I gobbled the salad and onions with yogurt-cilantro sauce on pieces of nan. ( Ooops, almost typed "NAN" in caps, a carry-over from "not-a-number" in a previous life :) I enjoyed the Chicken Boti Kabob, but when I got a chance to taste the wife's Chicken Tikka with bone, I found the Tikka more moist and even more to my liking. I looked through all the photos uploaded for this restaurant, and I found those of our meals to be accurate, as well as a number of the restaurant interior are reflective of my memory of today's visit. My wife wanted a Mango Lassi from the menu, but the restaurant had none available. In all, it was an interesting visit... I personally prefer eating at a buffet style restaurant which provides an assortment of pickles, chutneys, and vegetables, but K&K is much more convenient to our home location, so it is a balancing act.

I usually stop by this restaurant while travelling between Richmond and New York. The food is amazing. Specially their chicken karahi is top notch. The only questionable thing is their consistency.

Their Potato Biriyani was excellent... "potato?" you ask. Yes. I ordered chicken biriyani and got a two huge potato chunks and a piece of chicken that appears to have illegally immigrated into the US. The meal was flavorful but very oily. I think the low cost of oil at the gas pump has contributed to it. Good place to get something quick.

This place is just okay. Ordered a chicken biriani. Liked the Zucchini /veggie curry. Shit came with no bread. Had to buy it extra .

This is a go-to lunch once in a while: 2 Chat samosas, and a Kabab Karahi to share. Yummy. Trick: phone ahead with your order, the Karahi takes about twenty five minutes. But worth it. Also, mild spicy. I like spice, but I think if I said, "let's roll," it would be more than I could handle.

Sooo....I go into this review with my nose turned up because, well...I just don't get this place. I'll tell ya what I DO get though...the food. BOMB DOT COM back slash Im a fat fat, 4 stars easy... But the service is a joke. And dare I say it? At times race does seem to play a part in treatment. Yeaaah I know, but it's true. Okay, here's the good ish... The food is amazing. I am still trying to replicate that damn Kafti Kabob. The lamb chops are so succulent you WILL commit to them, and ONLY them. NO side lambs. You are DONE playing the field, ok? Committed relationship from here on in. ;) And Idk about you but chickpeas should just accompany damn near everything. Or at least theirs should. The naan is so fluffy, and rich, and they don't have to foofoo it up by adding cheese and peppers or whatever establishments' are doing to coerce ppl into eating it who don't get it. ITS BREAD. Nada more or less and if you're doing it right, its a great edible spoon, bowl, juices catcher, compliment in general to all the meals. OK...so this service right here, is why I prefer dogs over people. SMH... The ish is SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Like run to China slow. Like get your mom off the phone, slow. Like sitting in 495 on Tuesday @ 4:30 pm SLOW! And it blows my high every time @ how unapologetic the staff is about the complete and utter farce that is that wait time. LOL. I call in my order almost every time I eat here. They say 20 mins, every time. I give them 30 mins, every time. And I get there and wait an additional 25 mins...EVERY TIME! UGHHH! DAMN THE DELICIOUSNESS OF THAT LAMB! I would've been vapor by now if not for it. And I don't care if some get their panties in a bunch over this next statement but its TRUE so oh well, but on several occasions, regular patrons, or ppl who speak the language will walk in, wait in the same line, place their order like everyone else, chat up the cashier and magically leave with their food before everyone else. Yelp doesn't pay me to hold the bullshiz so, I'm just gonna give ya the quick and dirty. While waiting, Ive heard many a shouting match about this between random customers and staff. Its kind of a drag. If they'd just pass out lamb chops to pacify me while I age in line waiting for my food, I'm sure I could pretend I don't notice. Hehe.. That being said...they are usually stoic in face, and very hurried, which comes across rude but doesn't really irk me personally. So I guess that's ...something? Others take it differently. LOL Anyhoo...the food is amazing. Just take patience, a phone with 100% battery life and a Snickers, cuz you're not going anywhere for a while, and you're probably not yourself when you're HANGRY. :) 3/5 tummy rubs.

FANTASTIC!! Every thing is so good, so authentic and so filling. I love this place. Only reason I give it four instead of five stars is because the place, physically, could be a little nicer. There are a lot of flies every where :( still yummy food!!

  • Sammy A.

Have been here countless times and the food is absolutely delicious and kabobs are always cooked fresh(be prepared to wait(which is actually a great sign)). Only two things that keeps them away from that coveted five star. 1: cleanliness of the restaurant 2: service. This is the kicker. I have been here with brown friends and they take GREAT care of them and treat non brown friends with subpar service. This has happened almost EVERY time I have come here. But the foods worth it so I keep coming. What's a man to do.

I discovered Kabob N Karahi on my way to the dentist. Kabob N Karahi is a Middle Eastern-Indian fast food restaurant, where you order in the back of the restaurant and pickup your order when the cashier calls your number (on the bottom of the receipt). The restaurant is moderately clean. They offer daily specials ranging from Lamb or Chicken Curry to Chicken Biryani (on Friday's, Saturday's, and Sunday's). For drinks, you can get canned soda (e.g., Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sunkist, Canada Dry, or Mountain Dew), bottled water, V8, Lassi, Mango Lassi, or Chai Tea. I'd say that the chicken kabob are tastier and more tender than the ones at Moby Dick's and Sadaf Halal Restaurant in Rockville. However, the service is slow in the sense that expect to wait at least 20 minutes for your order. I ordered a Chai Tea and a Chicken Boti Kabob. The Indian Masala Chai Tea was served hot in a styrofoam cup and lacked flavor (needs more sugar). The Chicken Boti Kabob consisted of five, large, boneless pieces of chicken marinated overnight in their special house sauce and cooked on a skewer, charcoally grilled to perfection. Each entree comes with a naan, a side, and salad with chutney. The sides are limited - you have a choice of white rice, chickpeas or vegetables (green beans and potatoes in a spicy sauce). When they say something's not spicy, it means that the dish is mildly spicy.

Great food and very delicious. I usually get it to go because I don't want to smell like the food. It does take some time to get your food so call ahead so when you arrive, you'll have a shorter wait.

  • Payt T.

There is no doubt the food is excellent. It is fresh, tasty and authentic. The restaurant suffers because of poor customer service. The staff are often choosy when you ask for specific sides and appear to have an attitude. Wait times are long. The service is not hospitable at all. The tables are often very dirty. If the restaurant valued the food as much as the customer, this place would have much better ratings.

Reading the yelp reviews, I had hi hopes. This was the first time, for me and the last. The chick peas tasted as they were from a can, the color was dark brown, when should be light light brown. (could be because of too many tea bags). The chicken boti, was soft but the taste was the same as any Indian/Pakistan restaurant. The place is looked clean. But a STRONG! smell of uncooked meat..if you have been in a slaughter house The people seemed friendly, but this is not the place for ME PERSONALLY. oh yeha, the chutney... is too liquid

This place is absolutely fantastic! My brother raved about this place and I know he has great taste in food so I had to try this place out. Last Saturday after work, I decided to try it out with the company of my brother. Mind you, this place is kinda far from where we live. It takes a good 45 minutes to get there driving the speed limit. Fortunately, my brother drives a little faster. I saw the business and it looks kinda run down. A hole in the wall, run down, generic looking place in a generic looking plaza somewhere in Silver Spring. And Silver Spring has a plethora of generic looking places. I walked inside and it's literally a hole in the wall. It had tables and booths that looked pretty old and when you see the counter and the kitchen in the back, you'll see that the place had nothing "new" in it. Except the food. So we walked in, my brother ordered for me since I didn't know what to get. He ordered the Lamb Karahi (for 2) and a side of rice and an extra side of naan plus 3 water bottles. We sat down on the half booth/half chair table on the side and waited patiently. There was a line before us so it took a little while. My brother told me that when he came here the other day, it was empty until they sat down and waited for their order. Then, the place got packed. Well, the same happened when I came. There were about 4 people in front of us and no one at the tables. When we sat down, the place got packed. And I mean packed. Every table was occupied and there was a line halfway across the building. We finally got our food and it smelled marvelous. Here's a warning to those of you who are not "adventurous" and even to some, it may have an acquired smell/taste to it. We all had Kabobs before and many of us had Persian, Afghani and Indian food but this place is quite different. It has a distinct smell and flavor to it. I can't explain the taste or what spices they used to make it different but it definitely seems like it's authentic. Remember that I said "SEEMS" so don't get the wrong idea if it really isn't authentic food. 2 pieces of Naan that were big enough to cover a whole plate, 1 small bowl of rice and a wok-looking pan filled with the succulent Lamb Karahi. Now, we could have gotten more but my sister's birthday party was a few hours after our meal here. I know we're fat haha! But I had to try this place out! My brother took it easy while I basically swallowed (#Pause) the whole damn meal. There were pieces of bone marrow littering the dish and chunks of juicy, bone-in lamb smothered in their specialty sauce which was all spectacular. I ate both Naan bread and a spoon of rice when my brother had just the rice. By the time we were done eating, everything looked like they were just washed and cleaned because I swapped every little piece of lamb and sauce with the Naan and breathed it into my tummy! Oh, another warning, if you're not a huge fan of spicy food then make sure to tell them you want mild because we got it spicy and it was SPICY! But I loved it. My brother on the other hand had to visit the bathroom numerous times that night. I grabbed a menu and while we were driving back home, I saw that the place had LAMB BRAINS! :O I'm planning to come here today after work to try it out! The portions aren't that big compared to what we're used to and the prices are a bit higher than usual but in the end, they were well worth the trip and price.

I have never gotten anything that I have not liked! From the chat samosas to the lamb to the chicken to the seekh kabob! It's always great. My favorite thing on the menu is the chick peas I could eat them all day long! Great place and nicely hidden away from a busy downtown location!

So I would have rated this place 5 out of 5. However, when we started ordering our first 2 choices from the menu, both of them were out! We had to go back to the drawing board and start thinking what we'd get. Mind you, I take FOREVER to decide. We then settled on getting the kobob karahi. It took a while to get our orders out. I found it a bit strange that they have a lot of workers just standing by (or sitting on the side). The customers would have to get their orders themselves. Hence with the unavailability of our first 2 choices and the poor service, I marked down the place. The kobob karahi was delicious! We also got the chaat samosa and mango lassi. They were all very delicious. I've never had the chaat samosa served the way they do it. It was definitely a very pleasant surprise. The mango lassi is appropriately thick and creamy. When we waiting for our order to arrive, we were talking about how this place is just too far from the beltway for us to come again. But, given this deliciousness, we will definitely reconsider and will most likely bring friends with us. This place is really popular. A lot of people coming and going.

Yum! YuM! and more YUM!!! Everything I have ever had here has been amazing. I was first introduced to this place over a year ago and have been several times since. My go to is the chicken kabob - and the chick peas and usually spinach on the side. The naan is delicious and oh so good heated back up with a little butter in a skillet pan. I've tried the lamb chops before which are always cooked perfectly. And I've also tried the chicken curry which is really tasty. The spice is right and so is everything else!

Pretty good - samosas were too spicy for me. Kebabs had lots of meat. Juicy & seasoned nicely. Naan was nice & soft.

Best kabab I have found in the nova/md area. But service is sort of hit/miss as the place is open for long hours and the workers appear to be overworked and sometimes hating life. Also they tend to be inflexible and a bit stingy with the sides which is annoying to deal with - but I continue to do so because they simply make the best lamb kabab! Also the prices were better about a year ago but have gone up, which is also something which tempers my enthusiasm for driving out for their kabab.

  • Jeanne R.

For those complaining about the wait - this is NOT fast food! The meals are cooked to order and heated to perfection. So flavorful and fresh. And the value for the price is truly amazing in this area. The staff have been completely warm, inviting and helpful to us every time we have eaten here - and we are not locals - but I wish we were!

Had this the other night. I've gotta say that this place is the go to whenever I need a late night run. This place closes at 1 am, at least for the weekdays, and it provides great food and service even late at night. I always get the Karahi - both chicken and lamb are good. I've also tried the lemon chicken and that was great too. Awesome food with a lot of spices and a low cost. All the recipes for success!

found out about this place through a friend. Im a huge kabob fan and this place is pretty damn good. HERE IS THE KICKER! THEY ARE OPEN TILL LATE! so an after work munchies place it has become. the samosa chat is banging. has a good bit of spiciness to it so be warned. the lamb kabobs are juicy and full of flavor. i don't know what kind of seasoning is used but i think they might be putting liquor in it. (that means its good) i've run into friends from the old neighborhood here. i guess thats a good thing. either way give it a try if you are in a anti fried food mood.

Seriously this is my new favorite restaurant in MD!!! The food is super fresh and the flavors are mind blasting!! This is not a fancy place but the food is amazing, read on!! Grilled chicken and ground beef kebabs are so good I had to binge on them. Served with the freshest, fluffiest, and tastiest naan I have ever had also. Forego the rice and get the chickpeas. Good lord they are amazing!! The green sauce is also delicious but i wish it was a little less watery. Plus they are open till midnight during the week!! I love this place!! I wish I could oversell this place, but no, get your ass up her instantly!! (It is in the middle of no where but worth the drive!!) I am reminded of the Seinfeld soup Nazi episode. Food so good you can't eat it standing up, your knees are going to buckle...

I don't know how you have such a good rating with such horrible customer service. I have been coming here since you opened and consistently get horrible treatment from whoever is at the register. Today I ordered an extra rice...my method of payment was denied by you because it was under $5. You told me to ask the female I was with if she had cash. A little rude. I put the rice on the counter and say look I don't need it. You say okok give us your card you can pay with card. But I thought you don't take card for items under 5. Is it my race or religion that I am treated differently for when I come there? This isn't my first incident here. And to be honest...maiwand owns you!

The karahis are awesome: big wok-like pots filled with delicious meat and sauce, and with just enough crust around the edges to make you feel like they've been cooking in that pot forever. We got the lamb, which was really flavorful, with big bits of ginger, and I ate basically all the sauce with my naan. Their kabobs are also good, though not as magical as the karahis. Their wait times can be really inconsistent; sometimes we'll wait forever to get our food on what seems like a not-too-busy day, and then some days, when it's super crowded, we'll get our food pretty fast.

I used to love this place. I really really did. Gave it 4 stars- almost borderlined 5 three years ago. My experiences the past few years have broken my heart. I have raved about this place (esp to out of towners) only to be embarrassed every single time. There was the time where there was a huge piece of man hair in my chaat samosa and was cold. There was the time I ordered ONE lamb kabob that took over 35 mins. The guy behind the counter was arguing w/ some other guy who shrugged when asked where it was. He then later gave me some excuse saying it was "burnt" and they had to remake it. I saw about 8 customers who came after me get all their food and leave. No real apologies. Oh then there was the time I came and I tried to use one of their coupons they put out in the Burtonsville Gazette (for YEARS now) and the cashier actually yelled out "So... where'd you find this?!". Uh check the expiration date? Clearly you printed this out recently enough that it hasn't expired. Oh then during that same visit a different employee came and told my friends and I that they were really busy and since we seemed to be finished eating if we could leave. Oh and then also watching them stick my beloved chaat samosa (this time hairless- yes!) but in the microwave. 3 years ago it was fresh and crispy. Now it was just soggy from being steamed and the center was still cold. Ugh. You suck. If you look at my reviews I rarely go back (over and over again) to the same place if I have a bad experience but I really tried w/ Kabob N Karahi. I'm officially done. Food has gone downhill, timing of the orders downhill, totally disorganized, and now rude.

This is the best place halal place in town. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. However, the dine in area is too small and the place is always full of people.

Love love love the food there! We ordered lamb chop and goat Karahi. Lamb chops are perfectly grilled--juicy and flavorful. The Goat Karahi is very authentic and it is my favorite there! I will definitely go back there and try other dishes as well.

It's good! if you want your food fast, get whats in the hot food bar. If you order something other than that, you will have to wait for it to be cooked. (20+ minutes) Other than that, don't expect a great service and a very clean place to eat. Just expect good food. The place is opened late and that is a plus in my book.

    (4)
  • ShEikh S.

Their food is ok but very poor customer service every time I order by phone first they put me on hold for long time and then when you go pick up your food you have wait another 20-30minutes there... If its not near my home I would never come here.. And if you ask them something extra from the food line they said it'll cost you extra..

One of the best chicken kabobs I've ever had. Their chickpeas and naan are excellent, too. Don't come here for the ambiance - come here for the food. It's just delicious.

Nice big servings of VERY good meat. The spice is just right. So is the price. There's never a drive by this place that I don't think of stopping--even if I've just eaten!

  • A J.

Pros: -The meats are nice, tender, and fresh. -The bread is warm and soft. Cons: -The salad is a bunch of lettuce and onions and a tomato. -The sauces/curries are too oily! It's disgusting! -The food takes half an hour to be prepared. -The tables are greasy, flies are all over the place, the seat cushions seem to have taken a beating. It's like I'm eating off a dumpster. Overall: Even though the food is oily, unhealthy and artery-clogging, it's still succulent and tasty. However, the tables, floor and walls need a major clorox bath. Stay far far away from here if you're on a diet, there's no nutritional information.

This place has consistently good food. I've been here many many times and I honestly cannot say I've had a bad experience, or stomach ache after wards. The food is made to order and done in a reasonable time. It's not the cleanest place, but the food makes up for anything you may have an issue with. Get the Karahi and lamb chops. The lamb chops are perfection. Not even kidding. I'd lick white dog sh*t for a lifetimes supply of KnK lamb chops. Yeah.

Lamb Karahi spicy is a dish not for the faint of heart. If you love authentic Pakistani food and don't care about service or decor this is your spot. The place is packed and the food is cooked to order and it takes time. The Karahi is a little slice of fiery heaven with perfect naan.

  • Foodrunner F.

Amazing places. The food is so good over here. The kabobs are delicious actually everything is delicious and awesome. The karahis are really good too especially the chicken karahi. Portions are a good size and the prices are very good. Hard to beat the food from here. The restaurant atmosphere is very casual. They have different sides everyday and specials on the weekend (piya, nehari). They also do a great job catering food. The owners are great people to work with in this regard. They are very accurate on their recommendations for amount of food to order. They are very fair and honest.

Scratch that, the lamb karahi is even better. Absolutely delicious, so much flavor, it will bring you tears of karahi joy.

  • Yim K.

Love love love this place! Everything on the menu is tasty. If you're broke, go for a double order of chaat samosa, it is certainly filling. Call ahead if you are ordering karahi unless you don't mind waiting. It takes some time to cook, but def worth the wait. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. It does get packed on the weekends but they close late into the early morning.

    (5)
  • Alpa P.

Hands down my favorite Kebob place! I usually get the boneless chicken kebobs and chole on the side. The wait is usually longer than I'd like but it's only because they're making everything fresh. Every now and then we treat ourselves to their karahi chicken. It is simply out of this world. Karahi chicken is not the healthiest thing one can eat but, OMG, it's worth the guilty pleasure. I highly recommend this place. Most would say that the service here isn't the best but we go so often they know us and treat us well.

    (5)
  • Lisa C.

I always get chicken boti with rice and chick peas. The chicken can be a little spicy but overall it's super good and healthy. The naans are super fresh! I suggest you call ahead and order because they do take a while to cook the chicken. They're open till one which is alway a good thing! Lastly I love this place but the staff seem standoffish and may come off as rude. But whatever I'll suck it up for a good kabob.

The food was so good and fresh! I loved everything we ordered..tandoori chicken biryani, chat samosas, and lamb karahi! It was all pretty spicy but delicious!!!! I'll definitely be going there again. The portions are also huge! Five people shared all this food we ordered and we had tons leftover! This is a definite must try! I wish it wasn't so far away from me.

  • Jana F.

The service here was good, but the food just not my preference. It was all very spicy and they did not have many vegetarian options. I think all around it is probably good for most people, the people that I went with really enjoyed it. I would recommend this place to someone who likes very flavorful food, or is open to new things. The overall restaurant itself I thought was very small and kind of dirty. It all seemed very authentic which I greatly appreciated!

  • Saif A.

The Karahi's are amazing. I had it here first and I thought it would taste similar other places and it doesnt. These guys know how to do it right. The chicken, goat, and lamb are equally good but for different reasons. The goat is rich, the lamb is softer, and the chicken is the most neutral. Big plus to the biryani also. Also if you have room left at the end of the meal you gotta try the rasmalai. You'll thank me. :)

  • Madan N.

The food was average, but the customer service was bad. The people running the place were not helpful, in fact they charged me for things that they did not have. If the management does not have an item on the menu they should be upfront and not charge me for this and 20 minutes later tell me that it is not available. They did not come up to me to tell me they don't have the item, I had to ask several times. For the prices they charge the Kabob-n-Karahi in Baltimore is far better.

They have best authentic Pakistani food in DC area!!! Hands down!! Everything is so good it makes you lick your fingers! Yum yum yummmm!!! Karahi, kabobs, tikka, naan everything is sooooooooooo soooooooooooooo good! We go there once a week at least!!! Just love their food!!!

The good: Any Karahi, lamb chops, and the daily specials. The food is absolutely delicious and worth it. The bad: If you want a Karahi, or plan on going for lunch, you need to order 30 minutes ahead of time. The wait time is always ridiculous. The staff isn't exactly the most polite either. Honestly, it's worth trying at least once. Just order ahead of time so your experience is much more enjoyable.

Came here again recently and got the lamb chops. Also split the lamb karahi with a friend. I enjoyed the lamb chops slightly more, but both were the delicious. The lamb chops were on point and I will be going again real soon for them. I still wish that the green sauce that they use was thicker, but the lambchops were marinated so well, you don't really need it. May take a little while to get your food if you come in a large group.

Five stars for this ethnic restaurant. I go often, the food is great and reasonably priced. A hidden jewel. No corporate shine, no decor, but with real food, real spices. Five stars for the price, quality of the food, and staff!

We got there on a Sunday night and it was the two of us, four *enormous* families (each group was probably 10 or 11 people), and the Montgomery County police -- this made me think the food had to be good. Sure, this place is atmosphere free - but the food more than makes up for it. We got the KK special - chicken boti kabob (amazing, cooked to perfection, juicy) and lamb - served with rice and a small side salad with ample cut onion - and the Monday night special (aloo palak served with chole). For two of us, this was way more than enough food (we ended up with leftovers) for $24. Both were served with naan (this isn't really naan though - it's more like an enormous round, hot pita) and salad. The only thing that I'd recommend skipping is the veggie samosa- ours had clearly been sitting for a while so the normally crisp exterior was soft and soggy. This definitely isn't a date place- it's in a strip mall, and it's very sterile- but the authentic kabobs make it worth a trip.

This is a great place that is tucked into a strip mall just north of Cloverly. I only live a few minutes away and have been there at least a half dozen times in the last year. I've ordered from the specials menu as well as the grilled items and they were all delicious. I don't know much about authentic Pakistani cuisine, but it seems to be legit, looking at the clientèle that eat there. Some of the grilled items take over 10 minutes to prepare, but if you order their rotating specials you can be in and out the door in less than 5 minutes. There is a large case of chicken, lamb, seekh kabobs just waiting to be grilled. You peek into the kitchen and there is a small army of guys prepping, grilling and slapping naan dough around. There are a few items that I don't recommend. The paya, which was mainly all cartilage and skin. I was hoping for at least some sort of meat on it, but there wasn't any. Also the lamb brains wasn't what I was expecting. I had called ahead 45 minutes to order it. I shared it with some friends right around Halloween. I was thinking that it was going to be more whole brains poached or braised in their sauce, but it was roughly chopped and extremely greasy. Lastly, I think their chat samosa was in the Washingtonian's top dishes to try. I haven't ordered it yet, but it is on my to do list. It is a bit of a haul if you aren't from the area, but the place is packed with locals, so you know it has got to be good!

Everything I have had here is absolutely delicious. I love this place so much, the owner is great, remembers who you are and makes suggestions. The menu is varied enough everyone can find something but not overwhelming for the first timer. Thank goodness I only live 2 miles away!!!!!!

GREAT HALEEM (chicken). I go back and I never order anything else. One time we ordered chicken tandoori and man it was nasty. I wonder if they use liquid smoke - that's what it tasted like. Perfect chicken as usual but gross. Fresh naans are great.

Open until real late! Love it. Lots of parking. Love it. Food is delicious. LOVE IT. Think outside the box and order a karahi. It is large and can feed two. Order rice. You'll be thankful afterwards. Be adventurous and try goat.

I came here for the first time upon the recommendation of another friend. I've been to Ravi Kabob House and Kabob Palace in VA. This place fits somewhere in between. I got the chicken tikka kabob combo, which came with 1 side and salad. The chicken was good, but the highlight of the meal was definitely the chickpeas. A little on the spicy side, but oh so good. The meal should've come with rice, especially for what the meal costed me. 2$ for an extra side of rice? I'll have to pass. It also took quite a while for my meal to come out, I'd say almost 30 minutes. Closer to 3.5 stars than 4

What's a girl to do when she's coming home from her 9pm class and hasn't had a meal all day? I found Kabob N Karahi after my usual kabob place, Maiwand in Burtonsville, told me they closed at 9:30. Desperately craving some kabobs, I found Kabob N Karahi thanks to yelp. I have been here twice and both times I got the chicken tikka with a side of rice and chickpeas. I can only describe it in one word: AMAZING. The service was extremely friendly and helpful on both my visits. During my last visit, I made some small talk with the gentleman taking my order and he advised me to call ahead if I didn't want to wait, but since I generally come here on impulse I didn't mind the wait one bit for my perfectly cooked chicken. I also explained to the gentleman that I usually go to Maiwand, but have converted to Kabob N Karahi since they're open later which is accommodating for my schedule. He explained to me that Maiwand has a milder seasoning compared to Kabob N Karahi, and I have to agree. When it comes down to it, I prefer the chicken tikka kabob at Kabob N Karahi over the dark chicken at Maiwand because it doesn't make me want to drink gallons of water afterwards. The chicken itself is amazing. Tender, perfectly cooked and even has a little kick to it. I've never had the naan right out of the oven since I always order carry out, but the edges are fluffy by the time I get home. I've never been a big fan of chickpeas, but putting chickpeas on top of the rice for my side is MUST now. I cannot explain why it taste so great, but I always eat the chickpeas and rice first before I touch anything else in my meal. The kitchen is open to view and I actually watched the man in the kitchen pull out my chicken kabob and put it on the grill. Good service and made to order food?! WHERE HAS THIS PLACE BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! If you don't like to wait, order ahead, but even for such an impatient person like myself (especially when it's 9:30 pm and I haven't eaten anything all day), I think the wait is a small price to pay for such good food and spectacular service.

    (5)
  • Niana K.

Naan: OK--a little crispier than I'd prefer, but I'll take it. Chicken Tikka's (dark meat) marinade was much more flavorful than the Chicken Boti Kabob (white meat) because of the spices, not because it's fattier. Also, the Seekh Kabob had bits of jalapeno in it for some random bites of spice that my bf almost couldn't handle, but he pulled through. Meals served with salad, rice, and naan. Not a bad deal!! I don't know if I'd come back again though, but we'll see. P.S. the sign was kind of hard to find because the font is SO small. So FYI, it's located next to a big shopping center on a strip of stores along the road.

I cant believe that people find this place mediocre.....just judging the inside of the restaurant. Come OOONNNN YELPERS.... this is not a pretty well decorated restaurant but its good enough to feel safe, it needs more attention like any other small place with a minimal amount of staff...but i've been to a place that was a must go place by the wash post and I could not eat cus it was just dangerous. The food is amazingly tasty. Naan bread is great too. I love their chick peas and the lamb kabob. Chicken is good too. That yogurt sauce is great. I just come here every time I can. I think that we all have different taste buds and sometimes we differ on our opinions but they deserve their stars as of now. And they show it with a the people that cones to eat here...they are always busy!!!!

Based on this trip I am giving them a 3, despite normally liking them. Last night I went there with some friends and got two traditions off there menu the chicken and lamb karhi(sp?)s. both diahes were for two and both had/suppose to have meat. Well the lamb was not present in a sufficient quantity, we got a ton of lamb bones without any meat i think there was 3 pieces of meat. The chicken was okay but boney as heck, seemed like a lot of back pieces, get it with boneless. I would go back but would stay away from these two plates....stick with kabobs and chat samosas (the best thing here) and their daily specials.

We visited this because it was listed in the February 2010 issue of Washingtonian Magazine in an article called "Best of Silver Spring" [MD]. There are signs on the walls that say it's also on the Washingtonian Magazine's list of "Best Cheap Eats." It's a storefront located in a small shopping center. If you go there during lunch time, parking maybe an issue. You walk past the tables to the ordering counter in the back. It has glass counters so you can see the food and there is an opening to see most of the kitchen. This is a order your food, take a seat and wait for your name to be called kind of place. The setup may look "fast food" but believe me, it's NOT! At 7:00 on a Sunday, the place was half full. The wait time for the meal was about 15 minutes. Having said that, I can tell you the food was GREAT! Worth the wait I think. I ordered chicken and it was tender and flavorful. For drinks, you have a chose of can soda, bottled juice or water that you pick from a large soda cooler. Bottom line - The taste of the food is worth a visit. Just remember to think "carry-out with tables" and not restaurant. My wife recommends the lamb chops.

Cheap food, good food and friendly service. And as a plus they're open late. The only negatives are that it can take a while if you don't get a special and the decor, but you can avoid the time by claling ahead

This place isn't very clean or inviting: flies by the trash can, the dining area was filled with smoke, lighting was a mix of white fluorescent bulbs and yellow track lighting, it clashed and felt awkward. Tables not clean. The lamb kebab was dry and tough. Chicken was good. Fried fish was good but oily. The side dishes that come with a kabob order were limited to two or three unappetizing choices (we chose from chickpea curry, stewed yellow squash, or rice). not to be too simplistic, but it was unappetizing because they were all similar colors (yellow, orange). i severely questioned the cleanliness of my food. the mango lassi i ordered took way too long - it was almost as though they forgot my order - and it was really too sweet - but it cut well into the spicy food. I DID notice some sizzling plates of goat or some other meat in a metal bowl contained in a basket - that looked like nothing else i've tried in a kebab/middle eastern/pakistani restaurant. it was a lot more expensive than the kebob dishes so we didn't try that.

If it was between keeping this place open or losing a couple toes, my decision would be very easy. I eat here probably 3-4 times a week and never leave unsatisfied. The daily specials are great, and the lamb chops are unreal. I've paid twice as much for lamb chops that weren't nearly as good. And its open till at least midnight EVERY DAY. What's not to love?

Karahi means wok -- it's the stew in a bowl you can see in some of the pics. V good karahi. Similar quality, though a slightly different recipe, as Kabab Palace near National Airport (Arlington). Full crowd of customers on a Sunday late afternoon. Chickpeas were also well done, with a touch of garam masala like spice. We were driving in the area, but I think it's well worth the drive if you are within 20 minutes. From farther if you really want a kabob or karahi.

OH MY GOD. If u have to eat here, make sure you order two hours in advance.. Believe me.. Im not exaggerating on this. I went there for lunch at noon. The place was empty, yet it still took them an hour to cook my food. I know its made to order, but jeez. Its not like they were understaffed either. They had 6 guys in the kitchen, but half of them had their hands in their pockets. ANYWAYS I can't believe the positive reviews on this overrated restaurant. Eating here long term equals a heart attack WHY Other than the kabobs the food is cooked in unhealthy oil. As a result, the food is drenched in grease... The vegetables, chick peas, okra and chicken curries had what seemed to be oil puddles. Don't believe me, next time check out the trays next to the register. I ordered the lamb kabobs and they had a bad aftertaste. Hate to say it.. But like too much charcoal resulting in a nasty aftertaste. The tandoori naan wasnt much better either. Their salad consited of: tomatos, iceburg lettuce and tons of onions. The chutney was ok. I hate to say it.. But honestly the positive reviews are from folks who do not have East Indian/Paki type of food on a daily basis. The food here is similar to the Food Factory in College Park, which also is NASTY Don't waste your time on this place... You can get a better meal at Kabob Palace or Ravi Kabobs

Some of the dishes are for 2 people only over 20 usd, no real knives and forks or plates, quality of chicken or lamb could be better, but the grilled lamb is good, value for money an quality could be better, loud place, but the food seems to be not bad

The food is good. However, all that I eat is the Chicken Seekh Kabob. More than half of the times I have gone there, they are out of the dish. The kitchen is disorganized and sometimes the orders get confused. Really need people who know how to run a restaurant.

Lately I've had a hankering for kabobs and when the Tom Sietsma reviewed a place so close to my house I pounced on the opportunity. I have eaten this place non stop and it never quite gets old. Needless to say, its fantastic. Food: Go for the lamb chops and lamb kabobs. The greatest strength of this kabob place is the seasoning. The lamb chops are meaty and the texture hides hidden pockets of seasoning that explode in your mouth. The lamb kabob is the same way. In order to savor it better I recommend cutting the pieces into smaller ones, instead of eating it in one go and then dunking it with the accompanying sauce. The chicken and beef is okay, but the lamb is definitely the best. Atmosphere: Its clean. It is really really clean. Like I could drop my kabob, roll it around on the ground, wipe my mess with my naan bread and i would still eat it. Well lit, and there isn't any noisy music to intrude on your conversation. Seats plenty. Closing remarks: Kabob n Karahi is great for people who never get to finish their summer reading. Because the wait is stinkin long. Last time I brought John Updike's "Rabbit Run" and got through the first couple chapters. At the rate I keep coming back I'll have the book finished in no time. But seriously, call ahead and save yourself the trouble of waiting. When it gets busy you'll thank me. Also, if you do plan on taking this 'to-go', make sure you put it securely in your trunk somewhere. I had it sit shotgun with me a couple times and now I can't get that smell out of my car. When I crank the AC a chilly blast of kabob-flavored coolant hits my face.

This is a decent place to get chicken and goat karahi. The rest of their menu is average. The chicken kababs, haleem, other Kababs are ok, nothing super to write about. I still go there once a month or so for the taste but the food isn't really that healthy and usually have to exercise a lot after to get all the fat out of my system! The owner is a tall bearded Indian from Bombay and is a somewhat rude guy though. I needed a container to put my left over food and he wouldn't give me one, saying it was too expensive!

  • madhura j.

Extremely ordinary place, esp. if you are expecting decent vegetarian food. The chana masala was beyond ordinary, the salt and masalas were minimal. The samosa chat and kadhi pakoda was better, but that is the only veg they have. On the positive side, the prices are quite low. But that doesn't really make up for the taste. And the restroom was littered with tissue papers all over, stepping inside make me nauseous.

Don't come here for the atmosphere folks - come here for the AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE FOOD!!!! When I was on the hunt for some good Pakistani food last week, I should have come here! Can't say much for the curb appeal (which accounts for the 4 stars instead of 5). A small hole-in-wall carry out spot situated in a shopping strip. Unless someone told you that you would have the best kabobs and chicken tikka ever, you would never think about setting foot in here. Every dish is fragrant and bursting with spices and flavor. My hair still smells like karahi! The food is made fresh so please don't expect 5 minute service like a Chinese carry-out. It is worth the wait. Large, fresh, soft naans; perfectly spiced and cooked chicken tikka; chicken and beef kabobs that taste like they've been marinating for days and are grilled to blissful perfection! If you can't handle spices, make sure you order a sweet and creamy mango lassi to sip on to handle the heat. =) I didn't have any sides - honestly, there was no room left in my happy belly. I will certainly try them next visit and update my review. A quick few side notes: - the staff is not there to serve you hand over foot. They are there to make amazing food and keep this little dig running smoothly. Snooty Dining Divas should probably stay away. Kabob N Karahi is a busy busy spot and you will have to exercise some patience. - Desi (aka pakistani) food is eaten with your hands so it can get a little messy - bring some wipes. =) - This isn't a first date place. It's a place you go to with your family and friends when you need to kick back, relax and have some amazing kabobs! Maybe one of these days they will work on their ambiance, slap up some paint, some tasteful paintings and some decent tables. That day I will give them the extra star.

I've been to many many places like this and Kabob N Karahi hits the spot every time. Anytime I come here they greet me and know who I am. I don't go as often as I like to, but I've ordered almost everything on the menu so far and I do have to say that I have yet to be dissatisfied. The portions they give you is perfect, but every time I go I think to myself it's never enough because it's that good. If you're scared to try something different and want to start off with something simple then I recommend the Chicken Boti Kabob. Ask for extra sauce when they hand it to you because that sauce is the best!

Absolutely LOVED this place. We had carryout for the 1st time last Saturday night. We had the chicken biryani, lamb chops, boneless chicken kabob, and seekh kabob. Simply outstanding! Rice and bread were good too. Kids loved the food, and they can make it as spicy or mild as you like to your taste. We will definitely be coming back here.

Best kabobs in the greater DC region hands down. Both the lamb and chicken boti kabob are perfect. The bread is made fresh with your order, so it comes to you soft and piping hot. These guys love their craft, and are proud of their food. I got a mini-lecture one day when I called in ahead (because your food is cooked to order, it can take 15-20 minutes to get your food) and arrived 5 minutes later than expected. "The kabobs won't be good--they get dried out if they sit too long," the guy at the register told me. All in all, a very authentic Pakistani kabob house. Well worth the drive out from the city.

The boyfriend and I went on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy for a weekday. The outside looked a bit plain and inside a bit smaller than expected but food was delicious! They have specials for each day of the week (including weekends) and relatively cheap. They also have sides already made in the front so you can see them. Their kabobs were also up front for you to choose from if you decided on kabobs. We opted for a non-special and got a goat entree for 2 (yes, they have orders for two people!) - which included small salad and naan for each of us. They don't sell fountain drinks there so they have canned sodas, juices, and water (a can of soda was 99 cents). Paid up front and they told us it would be a 15-20 minute wait. It turned out to be maybe a 10 minute wait. The entree itself was still inside a small wok they had used, so you know it was freshly cooked! Their naan was pretty good and seemed very fresh.

the place is clean and friendly staff food taste good and reasonable prices. i like the lamb chops,i get one of those at least once a week.best way is to call ahead of time with your order,it takes a little longer to get the food ready and that's because its the grill ,they dont precook anything ,that's why it taste really fresh

We are thrilled to have such an excellent Pakistani/Indian restaurant so close by! The kabobs are huge and prices are quite fair. They offer on occasions some exotic types of curries. The service is excellent and the establishment is clean. They are open late until 1 AM too...

First time eating Pakistani and we had a good experience. I took advantage of a 20% off coupon and packed up the wife and kids. Upon arriving the place was not decorated well. It is a ugly carryout/ fast food restaurant but what the restaurant losses in affiance it gains with good food. This place is definitely in need of a woman's touch with some colors and maybe some nice pictures. Another drawback was the selection of drinks or no selection ( choice of 4 can sodas) We ordered the Chicken w/ Bone, Boneless chicken, Lamb, and lamb chops. Above all the Lamb was the best. Lamb Kabob was just excellent tasty and juicy. The boneless chicken was great as well. I would stay away from the chicken with bone it was not really good and the Lamb chops were not what I expected. All the sides are worth trying with my favorite being the chick peas. The fresh bread is to die for and everything is cooked over charcoal. Yum Yum. The service was fast and the owners are not pressed to get your money and let you pay after you have eaten. I give this place 4 stars based on I havent eaten Pakistani ever and nobody in there had BO. I will try other Pakistani and maybe update and change review.

Good service, price and good food. Best samosas. Meat is perfectly marinated and grilled. Some food can be spicy. You always will see people from Pakistan with their families eating there. Prices are reasonably. Lamb and chicken are great. Place was highly recommended to me by a Pakistani friend that cooks Pakistani style. My wife also loved the place. Restaurant is clean.

When it comes to eating food at a restaurant that that is not indigenous to the US, I live by one simple rule: If the majority of customers are not of the same ethnic background as the origin of the food, then the food is likely not authentic, too expensive, not as good as what they can cook at home, or gross. Kabob N Karahi passes all of these tests. Kabob N Karahi is by far the best restaurant in all Cloverly (Silver Spring). I know that's know saying much, but this place has excellent food...probably the best Pakistani/Indian restaurant in all of DC Metro area....seriously. Unlike most places that serve kabob, all of their kabob dishes are moist and tender. I strongly recommend this restaurant...you can't go wrong with any dish.

I really cannot add much more to what has been said already by the other reviewers. The food is awesome! It can be a long wait, but you can always order in advance. We normally call them for take out...

5 stars for food, portions, and price. Subtracted a star for use of styrofoam plates and cups. We will be back again soon.

the place is clean and friendly staff food taste good and reasonable prices. i like the lamb chops,i get one of those at least once a week.best way is to call ahead of time with your order,it takes a little longer to get the food ready and that's because its the grill ,they dont precook anything ,that's why it taste really fresh

We are thrilled to have such an excellent Pakistani/Indian restaurant so close by! The kabobs are huge and prices are quite fair. They offer on occasions some exotic types of curries. The service is excellent and the establishment is clean. They are open late until 1 AM too...

One word: Awesome! Try the Nehari beef on a Friday night. Can't go wrong.

The best chicken and lamb kabobs and chicken and goat karahi!!!!! Must have the veggies and beans as sides and chai afterwards!!!!! Love this place!!! We had dinner and then ordered a meal to go and came back two days later and we'll be back!!!!!

I LOVE their food. I come here once or twice a month and have always enjoyed what I had. My favorite is the chat simosa.

I will try other Pakistani and maybe update and change review.

not bad! the curry was a little oily but the lamb kabob were good and the naan was light and soft

  • Rami S.

  • Rijaa S.

FANTASTIC!! Every thing is so good, so authentic and so filling. I love this place. Only reason I give it four instead of five stars is because the place, physically, could be a little nicer. There are a lot of flies every where :( still yummy food!!

    (4)

I usually stop by this restaurant while travelling between Richmond and New York. The food is amazing. Specially their chicken karahi is top notch. The only questionable thing is their consistency.

  • Joe R.

    (5)
  • Josue B.

    (5)
  • Bridgette M.

  • D K.

    (2)

  • Humza K.

Yeah.

  • Mo P.

Lamb Karahi spicy is a dish not for the faint of heart. If you love authentic Pakistani food and don't care about service or decor this is your spot. The place is packed and the food is cooked to order and it takes time. The Karahi is a little slice of fiery heaven with perfect naan.

    (5)

  • Miranda J.

  • Jennifer N.

Five stars for this ethnic restaurant. I go often, the food is great and reasonably priced. A hidden jewel. No corporate shine, no decor, but with real food, real spices. Five stars for the price, quality of the food, and staff!

Went to this place last week but has BAD!!! experience. Their food may good but the people working their are rude and do NOT have any customer service skills. I am NOT going back to this place. RAVI KABOB is the best.
